Plant Care
Light – Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade the leaf patterns and scorch the foliage.
Water – Keep the soil lightly moist. Water when the top layer of soil begins to dry, but do not allow the plant to sit in water.
Humidity – Calatheas love humidity and thrive in bathrooms, kitchens, or near a humidifier.
Temperature – Prefers temperatures between 18°C and 28°C and should be protected from cold drafts.
Feeding – Apply a liquid indoor plant fertiliser monthly during spring and summer.
Growing Habits
Calatheas are slow-growing indoor plants prized for their beautiful foliage rather than flowers. With proper care, they can live for many years and gradually grow into a lush, full plant. Their leaves naturally move throughout the day, folding upwards in the evening and opening again in the morning, earning them the nickname “Prayer Plant”.
